Penn Foster’s online Patient Service Representative pathway training program will prepare learners to coordinate activities related to the admission of patients, including registering patients and obtaining and verifying pertinent information, such as demographic, social, and financial data.
Students will learn how to effectively obtain and communicate consent and legal forms, including Advance Directives and Patient Rights documents, and will gain current knowledge of insurance coverage, regulatory compliance, and claims errors, and be able to communicate benefits and financial responsibility to patients.
Additionally, learners will be prepared to act as a liaison between the patient and the patient healthcare team by scheduling appointments and treatment plans and coordinating clinical placement based on open beds to expedite patient care and flow.
This program will prepare learners for roles such as Patient Service Representative, Patient Advocate, Patient Access Representative, Patient Registrar, and Registration Coordinator.
The pathway curriculum can be customized to the needs of your organization.*
