How much does online high school cost?
Tuition for Penn Foster’s High School program is offered at a special rate through the Better WorkLife. We offer an affordable monthly payment option with an $80 down payment at the time of enrollment and $80 per month for 9 months. This allows students to pay toward their tuition while completing their coursework with no student debt/loan/borrowing.

Does Penn Foster online High School accept transfer credits from other schools?
Penn Foster does accept credits from previous high schools. To transfer credits, an official, sealed transcript must be sent from the student’s previous school for evaluation. Credits from courses that are equivalent to the Penn Foster curriculum and that come from regionally accredited high schools will be considered for transfer. Will you accept high school transcripts from other countries?
Yes. However, if the transcript is in a language other than English, we will need an official English translation of the transcript in order to evaluate it.
Can adults enroll in the online high school program with Penn Foster?
Yes! Penn Foster's online diploma program is open to any student 13 years or older who has completed the 8th grade. As an adult learner, you can finish the credits you need or even complete the entire high school program from home around your work schedule.
What is Penn Foster's online high school curriculum like?
Our online high school program consists of 16.5 core credits, and 5 elective credits, ranging from academic electives, like American Literature and Algebra to career electives, like Auto Repair and Veterinary Assistant. Students are able to choose the five classes they’d like to take to fulfill the elective requirement.
The core curriculum is made up of English, Math, Social Science, Science, Arts and Humanities, and Health and Physical Education courses. The classes a student must take to complete the program can vary based on any transfer classes from a previous high school.
Is Penn Foster High School accredited?
Penn Foster High School is regionally accredited for grades 9 through adult by the Commission on Secondary Schools of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA. 215-662-5603 www.msa-cess.org.

Do I need a computer for my program?
Penn Foster requires access to a computer, tablet, or cell phone that can connect to the internet. Many local organizations offer free Wi-Fi such as libraries, coffee shops, and restaurants. Even some phone carriers and cable providers offer free Hot Spots as a benefit of their service. Check your local area for free access points.
How does the online program work?
After enrollment you will receive an email with instructions to create your login credentials to access your account. You will be contacted by a Penn Foster Student Success Coach to help get you started with the program.
There are no physical classrooms since Penn Foster is an online and self-paced school. Study materials and assessments are accessed on the online student portal. There you will also find additional support material, however, if you need to contact your instructors for academic help or have other questions, you can contact them directly.
Instructors are available over the phone (1-888-427-1000) Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm, Eastern Time. They are also available through email by clicking on the "Contact Us" button in the Student Portal and typically respond within 24 hours. You can even contact instructors on the Penn Foster Community by sending a message or joining a discussion group.
How do you graduate from an online high school program?
When you've completed and passed your academic work and tuition has been paid in full, students will receive their official high school diploma and a sealed copy of their official transcripts in the mail usually within 3-6 weeks.
